Armen Kojoyian showcased at Miami Art Week 2015

Attending Miami Art Week was a resounding success for my booth at Spectrum Miami 2015. I thank those that attended and their compliments about my work. The decision to occupy my sole booth at Spectrum was the way to go, I tripled traffic, discussions about my work, and created brand identity more successfully versus my earlier show this year at Artexpo New York 2015. Advice I can give take a whole booth at these Art Fairs/Expos don’t dilute your image showing in a group. Artists have one chance to make a lasting impression over a four day event and their work must cut through the sensory and visual overload these shows create.

Nimrud’s Amulets mixed media paintings

Nimrud’s Amulets mixed media paintings 30″x40″ on stretched canvas. These two paintings mark a successful migration of getting my work off of archival paper and onto canvas or wooden panels. I have volumes of large works on archival paper rolled into massive tubes it was the only way I could create so much work without being forced from my apartment due to the volume of space stretched canvas takes up. Once I started entering art fairs and doing gallery shows the framing costs of art on paper were choking to say the least, not to mention shipping and handling of framed work is a logistical nightmare. I intend the canvases start stacking up now and eat up living space in my studio, its time for a larger stage…

Artexpo NYC a Great Time

My first art fair attended was a big success in making vital contacts and sales. Artexpo NYC 2015 afforded many sales opportunities and a immense learning experience in how to better market your artwork.

The best affirmations of my work came from Latin American collectors and gallery owners they responded passionately to my work and gave me great encouragement. My inspiration comes from so many Latin American artists that aren’t afraid of colors, imagery and shapes configured in shear passion. Artwork that shows so much information in color and imagery is not typical or fondly embraced in the canyons of conceptual installations in New York City the home of my studio.

I look forward to presenting my work at Spectrum Miami this December and showcasing my work on a larger platform directed to the Latin American collectors.

Press Release for ARTEXPO 2015

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:  3/21/15

ORGANIC ABSTRACTION ARTWORK OF ARMEN KOJOYIAN TO BE SHOWCASED AT ARTEXPO 2015

APRIL 23rd-26th, 12pm-7pm

PIER 94, 711 12th Avenue, Booth #345, NY, NY 10019, ph# 800-677-6278

New York City emerging artist Armen Kojoyian will be presenting his bold and vibrant organic abstraction artworks at ARTEXPO 2015 look for booth #345. Armen’s unique methodology is inspired from his affinity for non-western cultural symbols and organic artifacts of the natural world is the driving force behind his work. By restructuring these graphic languages, he unlocks the innate energy of these symbols in organic abstraction to ignite the subconscious.

Armen’s art making process is of the moment and not premeditated with numerous sketching phases. He acts solely as a conduit not a manipulator of the imagery flow. Form and color force themselves magically on to the surfaces which he works.

He uses a variety of oil bars, oil pastels, pastels, oil paint, and various marking implements as the materials for my work. Armen composes this media mostly by finger-tips, brushes, and rags while using thinners, and glazing mediums to achieve a rich painterly surface on archival paper, canvas, and wood panels.
